Sound QuietTech™ is Carrier's noise reduction system that allows comfortable heat while generating very little noise in the process. Carrier manufactures gas furnaces that are among the most quiet in the industry. Tested in a laboratory specifically built to a resemble a typical residence, sound level recordings are produced at steady rate and at low-fire (the most common operating mode) and measured 3 feet from the furnace. The Infinity® ICS furnace operates at 40 decibels, the same sound level as a refrigerator. A whisper is measured at 30 decibels while normal conversation is measured at 60 decibels.
